Citi no longer offers the Flex Line of Credit. That product was an unsecured line of credit that customers could access by writing checks, featuring fixed monthly payments. It's unclear precisely when the product was discontinued. Anecdotal information indicates that around 2009 credit lines were reduced, and the product was phased out as existing loans were paid.
Citi Credit Lines
Though the Flex Line is no longer available, Citi offers two other lines of credit, as well as other standard credit products.
Custom Credit Line
The Custom Credit Line is most like the former Flex Line, in that it is an unsecured line of credit. It features a maximum limit of $50,000, and you qualify based on your credit score and ability to repay the loan. Use all or part of the line at any time.
As soon as you repay what you have borrowed from the line, that amount of credit becomes available for you to borrow again. This is called a revolving credit account. To apply call 1-877-362-9100 or visit a Citi branch office.
Home Equity Line of Credit
A home equity line of credit is similar to the Custom Credit Line, with one key exception; it requires collateral in the form of a secondary mortgage. The amount of the line is based on your credit history, your ability to repay the loan, and the amount of equity in your home. Citi's home equity lines range from $10,000 to $1 million. Applications are accepted online.
